Based on the research findings of music industry and new media stusdies, the role of music streaming platforms in the transformation of our music listening practices in daily life is undeniable. Especially in the last 10 years,  music streaming platforms, which have increased the number of users more than ever before, have transformed the music industry around the world. Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer and many others have played a leading role in this transformation of the music industry. These platforms have made it possible for the user to access an almost unlimited music library more easily and at a very low cost than ever before. It was assumed that the income of the artists from this transformation increased as much as the number of streams, as the number of streams of artists reaching millions - even billions - came to the fore. It became clear with the Covid-19 pandemic that this was just an assumption. This study, conducted by Prof.Dr. Mutlu Binark, a full time professor of Hacettepe University Faculty of Communication and researched by Başkent University and Ankara Science University, focuses on how music streaming platforms are transforming the music industry in Turkey. The research reveals the opportunities and threats brought by the platforming phenomenon to the industry, and the strengths and weaknesses of the industry against platforming. This study, which is based on data obtained from a very wide field with the participation of more than 60 people consisting of author, producer, platform authority and public broadcaster representatives, sheds light on the transformation of the music industry in Turkey with platforming. In tandem with open science and open access policy,  the e book of project findings is below:
