The Higher Education Council (YÖK) has announced the 2025 research performance results under its Research-Focused Mission Differentiation and Specialization program. According to the data announced by YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar at the Research Universities Evaluation Meeting held at Yıldız Technical University on December 4, 2025, our university rose two places in the 2025 Research Universities performance ranking. According to the ranking, Hacettepe University ranked 8th among 23 universities in Turkey and 2nd among research universities in the A2 category.
All support planned to be provided to research universities, which are divided into three performance groups (A1, A2, and A3) by YÖK based on their performance, varies according to the performance group they belong to.
Hacettepe University saw a 9-point increase
According to the 2025 results, Hacettepe University achieved a total score of 63.11, marking a 9-point increase compared to the previous year. This rise was particularly notable in the Interaction and Collaboration category. The score in this area increased from 7.00 to 11.20, clearly reflecting the strong momentum in national and international joint research activities. Hacettepe also recorded improvements in research capacity and research quality indicators, raising its total score from 54 to 63.11.
Launched by YÖK in 2017, the Research-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program aims to strengthen the research-focused missions of universities, enhance their international competitiveness, and improve the quality of scientific output. Within the scope of the program, universities are evaluated each year under key headings such as research capacity, research quality, and interaction and collaboration.
Having steadily improved its performance since the early years of the program, Hacettepe University once again reinforced its position among Türkiye’s leading research-oriented higher education institutions with its 2025 results.
