The “Sports Friendly Campus” awards organized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) found their owners. Hacettepe University Beytepe Campus was deemed worthy of the second prize with the sports opportunities it offers to students, its physical infrastructure and its success in sports activities.
The award ceremony was held on May 13, 2025, hosted by Rize Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University. YÖK President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar, university rectors, academicians and students attended the ceremony. The importance of sports in higher education institutions was emphasized, and the efforts of universities to develop their sports infrastructure and encourage young people to live an active life were rewarded.
Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran received the award on behalf of Hacettepe University. The projects carried out by Beytepe Campus to popularize sports, the accessibility of sports facilities and the effective work of student clubs came to the forefront during the evaluation process.
