Hacettepe University has risen to 570th place in the QS World University Rankings

According to the QS World University Rankings 2027 released by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Hacettepe University moved up one place and ranked 570th in the world. The University was also ranked 7th among the 25 Turkish universities included in this year's rankings.

This year, 8,808 universities from around the world were evaluated and 1,504 universities were published in the rankings. The results were based on the analysis of 21 million research publications, 222 million citations, 1.6 million academic responses, and 600,000 employer responses from universities across 106 countries and territories.

Hacettepe University continued its steady rise over the last five ranking cycles. The University was placed in the 801-1000 band in the 2023 rankings, the 761-770 band in 2024, the 641-650 band in 2025, ranked 571st in 2026, and reached 570th place in 2027. Over the last ten years, Hacettepe University has improved by nearly 200 places in the global rankings.

According to QS's institutional classification based on Size, Focus, Research, and Status, Hacettepe University is classified as L – Large, FC – Full Comprehensive, VH – Very High Research Intensity, and Public. Based on the combination of these four characteristics, Hacettepe University is the only university in Türkiye with this institutional profile.

In the indicator results, Hacettepe University climbed 37 places in Employer Reputation and reached 214th in the world, placing it among the top 25% of universities globally in this indicator. The University also ranked 520th in Sustainability, 395th in Academic Reputation, and 532nd in International Research Network, maintaining a strong performance in these areas.

The QS World University Rankings are among the most widely followed global rankings in higher education. They assess universities based on academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact, learning experience, international engagement, and sustainability.
