Hacettepe University strengthens its position in the "QS Sustainability 2026 Rankings"

Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has released the results of the QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2026. As in the previous year, QS evaluated universities around the world under three main pillars of sustainability: Social Impact, Environmental Impact, and Governance.
The number of universities assessed globally increased from 1,744 to 2,002, while the number of Turkish universities included in the ranking rose from 36 to 53. According to the 2026 results, Hacettepe University ranked 524th worldwide and 7th among the 53 Turkish universities featured in the list. Despite the higher level of competition brought by the increased number of institutions, Hacettepe University improved its global position and maintained its strong standing in Türkiye.

•    Environmental Impact: 691st
•    Social Impact: 507th
•    Governance: 270th

A closer look at the lens shows that:
•    Within the Environmental Impact pillar, the university’s strongest area was Environmental Education, where it ranked 532nd globally.
•    Within the Social Impact pillar, Knowledge Exchange stood out, with Hacettepe University positioned at 242nd worldwide.
In the Governance category, Hacettepe University ranked 270th globally and, as in the previous year, 2nd among Turkish universities, demonstrating the institution’s consistent performance in this area.
