Professor Dr Erem Bilensoy, a member of the academic staff in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at our university, has been elected to the post of Vice-President for Science for the 2026–2030 term of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP). Professor Dr Bilensoy has become the first Turkish pharmacist and scientist to be elected to a leadership role within FIP.
The elections of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) – the highest international organisation for the pharmacy profession, with members from 157 different countries – took place on 29 August 2026 in Montreal, Canada. In the same elections, Lars Ake Soderlund from Sweden was elected as FIP President, whilst Sherif Guorgui from Canada was elected as Vice-President for Pharmaceutical Practice and Naoko Arakawa from the United Kingdom was elected as Vice-President for Education.
