RUR 2026 results announced: Hacettepe University has secured its place among the world’s leading universities

The results of the Round University Ranking (RUR) 2026, which assesses the performance of universities worldwide across the dimensions of teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability, have been announced. In this year’s ranking, which evaluated 1,313 universities from 99 countries, Hacettepe University was ranked 573rd globally. Our university also ranked 9th among the 69 universities from Turkey included in the ranking.

Significant improvement in teaching performance and financial sustainability

In the RUR 2026 results, Hacettepe University recorded significant improvements, particularly in the areas of teaching performance and financial sustainability. Our university climbed 15 places in the teaching performance ranking compared to last year, reaching 437th place in the global ranking, whilst in the area of financial sustainability, it rose 51 places to 607th. The university’s overall score also increased compared to the previous year.

In the RUR 2026 results, Hacettepe University ranked 437th for teaching performance, 638th for research performance, 788th for international diversity, and 607th for financial sustainability.

RUR, an international higher education ranking system, evaluates universities across four key dimensions—teaching, research, international diversity and financial sustainability—using 20 different indicators. In the 2021 ranking, which included 872 universities, the number of universities assessed had risen to 1,313 by 2026. During the same period, the number of universities from Turkey included in the ranking rose from 21 to 69.

As one of the most widely followed rankings in the field of international higher education, RUR evaluates universities’ performance using multi-dimensional indicators, thereby providing higher education institutions with a comparative performance framework on an international scale.
