The Faculty of Education Choir at Hacettepe University has become a source of pride thanks to its success

Established last spring and continuing its work with 40 students, the HÜ Faculty of Education Choir has become a source of pride thanks to its success at the 28th Turkey Choral Festival.  The Faculty of Education Choir at Hacettepe University, conducted by Dr Meral Mete at the Turkey Choral Festival, was awarded the ‘Award for Excellence in Choral-Instrumental Harmony in Interpretation’ for its outstanding performance.

Established with the support of Prof. Dr. Şefika Şule Erçetin, Dean of the Faculty of Education at Hacettepe University, the choir—whose members include students from numerous departments within the Faculty of Education as well as one from the Department of Nuclear Energy Engineering—has once again demonstrated the unifying power of music through this achievement. This award, the first result of the work carried out since the choir’s inception, was received with great joy and pride by the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Education.

Prof. Dr. Şefika Şule Erçetin, who spearheaded the choir’s establishment, expressed her satisfaction with the achievement, noting that artistic endeavours make significant contributions not only to students’ academic development but also to their social and cultural development. Congratulating Dr Meral Mete, who managed the choir’s establishment and preparation process, and the students participating in the choir, Prof. Dr Şefika Şule Erçetin stated that this meaningful success would serve as a source of inspiration for future artistic endeavours.

The Hacettepe University Faculty of Education Choir, whose work was crowned with an award in its very first year, has once again demonstrated Hacettepe University’s commitment to the arts and its strong culture of bringing together students from different disciplines under a common banner.
