The “Loyalty to Kindness Ceremony” held for the first time at Hacettepe University attracted great attention

The “Ceremony of Loyalty to Kindness” organized by Hacettepe University was held on February 24th at the Sıhhiye Campus Cultural Center M Hall.

The ceremony, which was opened with the National Anthem and a moment of silence on February 24th, was attended by Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, academicians, representatives of scholarship organizations, university staff and students.

The ceremony started with the Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory Trio Music Concert. It continued with speeches by scholarship graduates of the medical faculty. Our scholarship graduates explained the importance of the scholarships given to them.

A promotional film was watched for the University and the "Hacettepe Yanında" application at the ceremony. The representative of the Turkish Education Foundation, Meltem Lara Bilikmen, who is among the institutions that give the most scholarships, said that they have given scholarships to nearly 3200 Hacettepe students to date. Meltem Lara Bilikmen said, “Supporting students is very important. Solidarity is very important. As a graduate of Hacettepe University, I will also give a scholarship to a student in my name using the Hacettepe Yanında application. The more solidarity, the more young people contribute to our country.”

The Goodness Loyalty Ceremony continued with the speech of Alumni Communication Coordinator Prof. Dr. Rahime Şimşek. Şimşek said, “University education is not only limited to academic activities, but is also a process in which they complete their psychological and personal development. Scholarships and support are very important for our students during this process. Financial concerns negatively affect our students’ academic success as well as their general quality of life. Scholarships are not only valid for students who are in a difficult socioeconomic situation. Scholarships are also a reward for success.”

Our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran expressed the meaning and importance of the ceremony with the following words: “Today, we have gathered here not only to thank them but also to share goodness and solidarity. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the civil society organizations that shed light on the lives and dreams of our young people who wholeheartedly support education. Education is not only about gaining knowledge; it is about raising hopes, turning dreams into reality and building the future. However, we all know that this journey is not always easy. Among our students, there are many young people who have difficulty continuing their education due to economic difficulties, and who perhaps do not have to give up on their dreams thanks to scholarships. You are our greatest supporters who raise their hopes and illuminate their paths. The Hacettepe Yanımda application is being implemented to both digitalize our own processes and ensure that the aid contributions coming from our graduates or other individuals and organizations are made transparently and to improve aid contributions.” Our Rector concluded his speech by mentioning the purpose and importance of the “Hacettepe Yanımda” application.

The ceremony ended with our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran presenting plaques and certificates of appreciation to the institutions that provide scholarships.
