A historic reform is being implemented that will raise the quality of emergency health services in Turkey above international standards. Hacettepe University, a pioneer in healthcare education, is once again leading the way in Turkey’s healthcare education sector by launching the country’s first Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Paramedicine this year.
This major transformation has been realised in line with the Ministry of Health’s strategic objectives to enhance the quality of pre-hospital emergency healthcare services and with the support of the Council of Higher Education.
As Hacettepe University, we would like to express our gratitude to the Ministry of Health and the Council of Higher Education for their contributions; they identified this critical need to strengthen the dynamic structure of pre-hospital emergency care and personally requested and encouraged the implementation of this programme.
Through the four-year Bachelor’s degree programme in Paramedicine, the aim is for our students to graduate with comprehensive expertise not only in pre-hospital emergency medical care but also in critical care, disaster management, mass casualty incidents, simulation-based crisis management and digital health informatics; to be equipped with the competence to assume managerial leadership roles across all areas of emergency healthcare; and to have the pathway to an academic career opened up for our graduates.
We hope that this historic transformation will be of great benefit to our country, our nation and the entire healthcare community.
