According to the results of the URAP 2025–2026 World Rankings, Hacettepe University retained its top position amongst Turkish universities, ranking 574th in the world. Whilst maintaining its position as Turkey’s leading university for the eighth consecutive ranking period, our university increased its total score, thereby continuing its strong performance in research-based indicators.
The results of the URAP 2025–2026 World Rankings, compiled by the URAP Research Laboratory operating within the Institute of Informatics at Middle East Technical University (METU), have been announced.
In this year’s study, which ranks the 3,000 universities with the highest academic performance worldwide, 129 universities from Turkey managed to enter the rankings. Only 15 universities from Turkey featured among the world’s top 1,000 universities.
Hacettepe University was ranked 574th in the world in the URAP 2025–2026 World Rankings. As in the last eight ranking periods, our university once again took first place amongst universities in Turkey this year.
When assessed by indicator, Hacettepe University scored 62.97 for the article indicator, 78.07 for the citation indicator, 38.19 for the total scientific documents indicator, 47.77 for the international collaboration indicator, 60.50 for the total publication impact indicator and 49.79 for the total citation impact indicator. Our university’s total score rose from 336.61 last year to 337.30.
The URAP World Ranking, which is based on the number of articles, the number of citations, the total number of scientific documents, total publication impact, total citation impact and international collaboration indicators, is one of the leading international rankings that assesses universities’ research performance using objective bibliometric data.
