2 Hacettepe Students Among the Winners of the "For Women in Science" Program

In the "For Women in Science" Program, which L'Oréal Turkey has been carrying out for 18 years in cooperation with UNESCO in order to support gender equality in science and to create role models, the women scientists of 2020 who were entitled to receive an award from Turkey have been announced. Two of the 6 young scientists who were selected in the fields of "Life and Environmental Sciences" and "Physical Sciences" and won a one-year scholarship worth 75 thousand TL each, are Hacettepe University faculty members:

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazife Erkurşun Özcan (Faculty of Science, Department of Mathematics)
Dr. Nazife Erkurşun, whose research areas are Mathematics, Dynamical Systems and Ergodic Theory, Functional Analysis, Operator Theory, Basic Sciences, is looking for an answer to the "Kakutani Conjecture" mathematical problem that has not been solved for more than 70 years.

Assit. Prof. Dr. İdil Yet (Health Sciences Institute, Department of Bioinformatics)
Dr. İdil Yet, whose research areas are Medicine, Health Sciences, Basic Medical Sciences, Biostatistics and Medical Informatics, Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Basic Sciences, conducts research especially on liver cancer.
