Design FILS Project received the 'European Innovative Education Award' in the year 2023

The execution and research activities in the Design FILS Project were conducted by Assoc. Prof. Ayşen Özkan and Assoc. Prof. Gülçin Cankız Elibol from Hacettepe University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Architecture and Environmental Design, and Prof. Dr. Ayhan Yılmaz from the Faculty of Education, Department of Mathematics and Science Education, Division of Chemistry Education. Theoretical models, guides, educational contents, and tools were developed for the design of innovative learning spaces, the effective use of technology in learning spaces; and learning scenarios, based on active learning approaches, have been developed.

Within the scope of European Union Erasmus+ Programs’ School Education, between years 2019-2022, The Designing Future Innovative Learning Spaces Project (Design FILS) was conducted under the coordination of Republic of Türkiye Ministry of National Education, Innovation and Educational Technologies General Directorate; CAFI (Spain), European SchoolNet-EUN (Belgium), Vienna Teacher Education University (Austria), Zakladni skola Dr. Edvarda Benese (Czechia), University of Lisbon (Portugal), and Hacettepe University from Turkey. A European-level instructor and teacher training model for the use of technology in innovative learning spaces was also introduced in the project.

The Award Ceremony organized by the European Commission took place in Brussels, Belgium, on November 23–24, 2023.
