Hacettepe University continues its academic success internationally. Our university maintained its steady rise by ranking among the top 200 in the recently announced 2026 QS European Rankings. Hacettepe outperformed the European average in employer reputation and employment outcomes indicators.
Our university, classified as “Very High” in research intensity by QS, ranked 199th among 958 universities evaluated across Europe.
Over the past three years, Hacettepe University has outperformed 79.3% of European universities according to the “percentage of institutions surpassed” indicator calculated by QS. This result is a concrete demonstration of the progress our university has made in research capacity, employability outcomes, and international engagement.
Strong performance in employer reputation, academic reputation, and employment outcomes
According to the data released, Hacettepe University ranked among the top 200 universities in Europe in terms of employer reputation, academic reputation, and employment outcomes, demonstrating a performance above the European average.
Ranked 81st in the employer reputation indicator, Hacettepe demonstrated that it has a strong reputation in terms of the level of preparation of its graduates for the business world and their employability. Ranked 153rd in the academic reputation indicator and 194th in the employment outcomes indicator, Hacettepe University is among the universities that strengthen both academic prestige and graduate success.
Performance above the regional median in key indicators
According to the Underlying Ratios and Indices data, Hacettepe University recorded values above the regional median in several indicators, including International Research Network (51.2; regional median 37.0), Faculty–Student Ratio (9.8; median 7.2), Papers per Faculty (4.9; median 4.2), and Employment Outcomes (39.8; median 17.8). These results point to the University’s solid institutional capacity and effective research and education ecosystem.
Sustained strength in academic output
Based on QS Europe 2026 data, Hacettepe University demonstrates a stable and sustained level of academic production in terms of publications per faculty member and citation impact. Bibliometric data covering the 2019–2023 period indicate that the University delivers strong research output across a broad range of disciplines, particularly in life sciences, medicine, engineering, and social sciences.
