Through Hacettepe Teknokent Technology Transfer Center (HT-TTM), Hacettepe University Faculty of Pharmacy, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Hakan Eroğlu and Serra Dermokozmetik ve Medikal Urunleri San. ve Tic. Ltd. The products named "T-Brush Effervescent Toothpaste Tablet" were commercialized in October 2020, after the completion of the necessary legal procedures.
T-Brush Effervescent Toothpaste Tablet is positioned as a product in the natural product category prepared with a sustainability perspective. The packaging of the product is prepared from Forest Management Certification (FSC) certified paper and there is no plastic component in its packaging. T-Brush is presented to consumers in a glass package with a metal lid and has a distinct identity in terms of sustainability. It not only has an environmental perspective, but also offers the user a standardized dental care opportunity with the same amount of ingredients every time. In addition, T-Brush, which is vegan certified, is a product that has not been tested on living things at any stage and can be called "cruelty free". With the introduction of the pandemic into our lives, it also has very important advantages in personal hygiene, the importance of which we understand better. Most of us in the family use conventional toothpastes in common with other individuals. An infection that may occur in one of the family members can be transmitted to the tube as soon as we touch the tip of the toothbrush to the tube, and from there it may be transmitted to other family members using the same tube. However, T-Brush completely eliminates this problem and prevents possible contamination risk.
Since there is no water in the new generation toothpaste tablet formulation and there is no risk of microbial growth, there is no antimicrobial substance in its content. In addition, all components in this product formulation, which is prepared with maximum care in terms of human health, are in the category called "Pharmaceutical Grade" and used in drug production. Formulated with and without fluoride, this product has been commercialized as 8 different formulas with orange, mint, strawberry flavor and active carbon.
The first payment was transferred to our university in April 2021 from this commercialized product, of which Hacettepe University is the rightful owner within the scope of the patent application. “T-Brush Effervescent Toothpaste Tablet” is the first product developed and commercialized through R&D through HT-TTM and bringing income to our university within the framework of entitlement. At the same time, T.C. for T-Brush Effervescent Toothpaste Tablet. An "Export Certificate" was also obtained from the Turkish Medicines and Medical Devices Agency of the Ministry of Health, and the first export agreement was made in April 2021.
