The delegation from Zarmed University in Uzbekistan, consisting of its founder and Rector Prof. Dr. Dilshod Shukurlaev; Dean of the Faculties of Engineering, Economics, and Humanities Bahodirkhon Safarov; and Technopark Department Manager Tohir Umarov, visited our university on January 28.
The Zarmed University delegation was welcomed at Hacettepe University's Sıhhiye Campus by our university's Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, and the Coordinator of International Relations and Protocols, Prof. Dr. Erkan Zengin.
As part of the visit program, the delegation made its first contact at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine. With the contributions of Faculty of Medicine Dean Prof. Dr. Hakan Göker and Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Sevinç Sarınç, the delegation was provided with comprehensive information about the education, research, and healthcare services conducted at the Faculty of Medicine and Hacettepe University Hospitals; the university's national and international achievements in the field of medicine were shared with the delegation.
The delegation continued their visit to the Faculty of Dentistry. During the visit, Dean Prof. Dr. Tülin Taner provided the delegation with comprehensive information about the education provided and the treatments performed. In addition, the guests had the opportunity to closely examine the physical infrastructure of the Faculty of Dentistry through a virtual tour.
The Zarmed University delegation continued its contacts with a visit to Hacettepe Technopark. Meeting with Technopark General Manager İsmail Karahan, the delegation was briefed on the operation of Technopark and the companies operating within it. Experience and recommendations were shared regarding the establishment of a similar structure in Uzbekistan. Following a presentation by Salim Öztürk, Coordinator of the Entrepreneurship Office, and Zeynep Bilgiç, Project Specialist, the offices of Loop Games and Jotform were visited to demonstrate the operation of the Technology Park.
As a result of the meeting, an MOU protocol was signed between the two universities, marking an important step towards strengthening academic and institutional cooperation. This visit was a concrete demonstration that Hacettepe University's international visibility will continue to grow in the new year.
