World's most influential scientists announced according to 2023 data

Stanford University published its research, ranking the most influential scientists in the world, through Elsevier BV. The research results, presented in two different evaluations as "career-long impact" and "year-based impact", took into account the top 2 percent of researchers working in 22 main branches and 174 sub-branches.

The Stanford ranking includes many different variables taken into account in international academic performance measurements, including the number of qualified publications according to Scopus data, the impact values of the journals published, the number of citations, and the h-index.

204,643 researchers from around the world were included in the "career-long impact" ranking, which covers data until the end of 2022. While 1,040 researchers from Turkey are listed in the ranking, 39 of them are from Hacettepe University.

1,395 Turkish researchers, including 42 Hacettepe residents, entered the "year-based impact" ranking, which only takes into account data for 2022.
