"Foundations of Health Gratitude Ceremony" organized in cooperation with our university and the Turkish Industrialists' and Businessmen's Foundation (TUSIAV); It was held to thank the faculty members who served at our university for many years, who glorified the name of our country and Hacettepe with their contributions to health science, for their outstanding services.
TUSIAV President Veli Sarıtoprak, TUSIAV Board of Trustees members, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Ünal, administrators of our university and many academic and administrative staff attended. The ceremony started with a mini concert where Ankara State Conservatory artists performed Aşık Veysel's works and continued with opening speeches.
Our University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran said the following in his speech:
“Dear professors, welcome to your university and home. We are very pleased to see you here again. You are the most valuable and important actors who brought this university to today. While there was almost no road map, you created this university with your own efforts, in solidarity, by prioritizing the institution, without saying "I", by saying "we". That's why we can't do enough for you. This university rose on the stones laid by you. I wish all our professors who served this university, especially our founder İhsan Doğramacı, were with us. “We remember them with mercy and gratitude.”
Continuing his speech by drawing attention to the 100th Anniversary, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran commemorated Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the statesmen, soldiers and martyrs who served for the prosperity of the country during and after the liberation struggle, with mercy and gratitude. Talking about Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı's vision and contributions to the field of health, Güran also gave information about the projects carried out and planned at our university.
In his speech, TUSIAV President Veli Sarıtoprak stated that he was very happy to be at the podium of a world brand like Hacettepe University and said, "We held this ceremony to pay our debt of loyalty to our senior elders who have served this country for a lifetime." Drawing attention to the importance of loyalty, Sarıtoprak said: Dr. He described Mehmet Cahit Güran as loyal and expressed his gratitude for mobilizing the university's resources in this project.
Following the speeches, "Foundations of Health Gratitude Ceremony" certificates were presented to faculty members over the age of 75 who have worked at Hacettepe University for many years and devoted themselves to public health and science.
