International awards to FoQuS Research Group

The last of the international conferences organized annually since 2008 by the International Society for Nutraceuticals and Functional Foods (ISNFF), founded by the International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), was held in Istanbul between 2-5 October 2022. Around 400 scientists from different countries of the world attended the conference. Our University's Food Quality and Safety (FoQuS) Research Group achieved an important success in the "Flash Talks" competition organized for young researchers as part of the conference.

Dr. Aytül Hamzalıoğlu was awarded the second prize with her work titled “Casein-phenol interaction during in vitro digestion provides better bioactive peptide release and phenol delivery to colon”, Dr. Ecem Evrim Celik and Dr. Cemile Yılmaz, on the other hand, was awarded the third prize with her works titled “Formation of bioactive tyrosine derivatives during sprouting and fermentation of different whole grains” and “Effects of environmental stresses on neuroactive compounds produced by Saccharomyces cerevisiae in fermented foods”.
