Outstanding success of Hacettepe makes a difference

Participating as a stakeholder in the TEKNOFEST Aviation, Space and Technology Festival held in Istanbul between April 27 and May 1, 2023, our university made it to the finals with 30 projects.

Cervos Team under supervision of Dr. Dinçer Gökcen as one of the teams of  Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Society managed by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Hacettepe University won the first prize in the ”Türksat Model Satellite Competition". Simurgh Y and PURA teams of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Society were also awarded 43 K and 47 K performance awards. Yongafab team, which competed in the Digital Processor category of the Chip Design Competition, was also awarded the second Honorable Mention award.

Our University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, Department of Biotechnology Res. See. Dr. Nermin Hande Avcıoğlu and 3rd year Biology students Gökçen Saygı and Nazlı Neval Şahin are members of the HUMİKRO team with their project titled "The use of curcumin immobilized bacterial cellulose as a food coating", "Biotechnology Innovation Competition Project Category Third Prize at University and Above Level" was entitled to receive.

The Ino-Motion Team, of which our university Faculty of Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation faculty members Hande Güney Deniz and Gizem İrem Kınıklı and alumni Zilan Bazancır Apaydın and Muharrem Gökhan Beydağı are members, are members of the Ino-Motion Team with their project titled “Creating a Prototype of Symmetrical Walking Insoles Using Sensor Technology and Developing the Software” for the Benefit of Humanity. Technology Contest Health and First Aid Category was entitled to receive the “Best Presentation Award” at University and Above Level.

While the intense interest shown in the projects exhibited at the Hacettepe University stand in the fair area, the model satellite, rocket, rotary-wing UAV, fixed-wing UAV project exhibition, the simulation shows that provide flight experience gained the attention of technology enthusiasts.
