With the UN pointing out 2020 as a very important year to advance gender equality, the first of the international "Metrodora Awards", developed for female leaders who make a significant difference with their international contribution to the field of science and health, to be mentors and examples to other women, was awarded to the Faculty of Medicine. Prof. Dr. Lale Tokgözoğlu, a faculty member of the Cardiology Department. The award was given to three female leaders as “Developing Country”, “Developed Country” and “Global”. Tokgözoğlu, who was deemed worthy of the “Metrodora Global Leader in Science and Health Award” and declared a “Worldwide Leader”, dedicated his award to all women working in the field of science and health.
