At the prestigious Young Social Scientists Awards, given biennially by the Turkish Association of Social Sciences (TSBD), two esteemed doctoral students from the Hacettepe University Social Sciences Institute Social Work PhD program won awards. The award ceremony was held on December 23, 2023, and attracted significant attention from the academic community.
From the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Social Work Department of Hacettepe University, Dr. Görkem Kelebek Küçükarslan, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Reyhan Atasü Topcuoğlu, received an award in the Doctoral Thesis Category for her thesis titled "Women's Contested Divorce Experiences from a Feminist Social Work Perspective."
Additionally, Dr. Nurgül Certel from the same department, also under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Reyhan Atasü Topcuoğlu, won a commendation award in the Doctoral Thesis Category for her thesis titled "Polygamous Marriages Formed by Turkish Citizen Men with Syrian Women: The Experience of Polygamy from the Perspective of Different Actors Within the Marriage."
We celebrate these young scientists, their supervisor and our university's success in this achievement.
These awards once again demonstrate the academic excellence of Hacettepe University and the quality of research conducted by its students. Hacettepe University will continue to achieve academic success in the coming years.
