Hacettepe University Center for Genomics and Rare Diseases (HUGEN) in cooperation with Computer Engineering-Artificial Intelligence Engineering Department and with the support of the Information Technology Department, created REDCap Corporate Patient Registration System Database at https://redcap-hugen.hacettepe.edu.tr. In accordance with the protocol developed by Vanderbilt University, the use of the REDCap database is subject to principles determined by HUGEN consortium, which is authorized for the usage of the database.
REDCap Institutive Database was designed as a multi-center data file which aims not only to retrospectively and prospectively register patients but also to determine the epidemiology of diseases and record of treatments and follow-ups.
In this context; under the coordination of HUGEN; On Tuesday, May 7, 2024, between 12.30 and 14.00, at Sıhhiye Campus İhsan Doğramacı Children's Hospital Yunus Mufti Conference Hall, HUGEN Board Member Dr. Murat Özdede gave an introduction and information hands-on talk about the principles of use of the REDCap patient registration system.
The meeting started with the opening speeches of Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Ünal and HUGEN Director Prof. Dr. Fatih Özaltın, and continued with the introduction and information REDCap patient registration system presentation of Dr. Murat Özdede. After the informative presentation, all steps of the REDCap database registration process were demonstrated in practice. Following the practical demonstration, the meeting was completed with a discussion session where participants' opinions, suggestions and questions were included.
