The project titled "Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems for Speech and Language Therapy Candidates," led by Prof. Dr. Maviş Emel Kulak Kayıkcı,PhD, SLP, a faculty member of Faculty of Health Sciences, Department of Speech and Language Therapy, has been approved for funding under TÜBİTAK’s Scientist Support Programs Directorate (BİDEB) "2237 A-Grant Program for Scientific Training.
The online training program, which will be held on February 15-16, 2025, aims to enhance the knowledge and awareness of senior (4th grade) students enrolled in Speech and Language Therapy undergraduate programs regarding Augmentative and Alternative Communication Systems (AAC) and encourage them to pursue studies in this field after graduation.
With the participation of 16 national and 3 international trainers, 23 different topics will be covered, ranging from the definition of AAC to intervention strategies.
This training program also aims to contribute to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals of "Good Health and Well-Being" and "Quality Education."
