On the occasion of the 100th birthday of the 3rd President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev, in 2023, when we celebrate the 100th anniversary of the foundation of our Republic, our university has the “100th Anniversary”. Year: The Republic of Türkiye and Heydar Aliyev” was held.
Azerbaijani deputy Fezail Ağamalı, Azerbaijani Republic Ambassador to Turkey Reşad Mammadov, Azerbaijan Technical University Rector Prof. Dr. Vilayet Veliyev, Hacettepe University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, members of the senate of our university, academic and administrative staff and students attended the conference held on 26 April at the Sıhhiye Campus. The event, which started with the reading of the congratulatory letter of the Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan Emin Emrullayev, continued with the speeches of Fezail Ağamalı, Reşad Mammadov and Prof. Dr. Vilayet Veliyev after the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran.
A panel was also held under the moderation of Hacettepe University International Relations Department Head Prof. Dr. Yonca İldeş. The panel was attended by Bilkent University Nanotechnology Research Center Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Emirullah Mehmetov and our university International Relations Department Lecturer Dr. Özlem Pınar Oran participated as a speaker. After the speeches, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran presented a certificate of appreciation and a statue of Hacettepe to the speakers in memory of the day. Rector Güran delivered a copy of the "Honorary Doctorate" in the field of "International Relations", which was approved by the Senate on January 26, 1994, to Haydar Aliyev, and a copy of the Senate decision.
In the event, which continued with the Cultural Program, the works prepared by the Ankara State Conservatory together with the "From Azerbaijan to Anatolia" ensemble; Arzu Kurbani was voiced by Muhsin Kurbani, Azer Gaffarzade, Evren Şen and Prof. Dr. Cenk Güray. Then, the event ended with a concert given by Azerbaijani artists Elgün Guliyev and Prof. Dr. Hacıbaba Adiloğlu.
