70 Person "Ace Team" of Turkish Science

Derin Orhon, Seval Sözen and Şeyda Duba from the journal "Herkese Bilim Teknoloji" published a list of a group of outstanding scientific achievements specific to Turkey, taking into account certain criteria. As they emphasized in the research article, the H index and the number of citations, which are clear indicators of outstanding scientific achievement all over the world, are the criteria taken into account in the preparation of this list. In the research, values of 50 for the H index and 10,000 for the citation were accepted as thresholds. As a database, Google Scholar was used, which has a higher number of sources compared to its peers and where mistakes created by possible name similarities can be detected more easily.

Unlike standard evaluations, there are 2 important points that make this list stand out:

1. All or most of the studies must have been done by scientists from Turkey.
2. CERN-sourced research articles are not included in the list.

In addition to Prof. Murat Alper's extensive research, similar studies conducted in recent years and all records and documents of scientific committees were examined. As a result, the data of 70 scientists are listed in tabular form. The names of 9 Hacettepe members in the "70-Person Ace Team" are as follows:

1. Prof. Dr. Adil Denizli
2. Prof. Dr. Candan Gökçeoğlu
3. Prof. Dr. Murat Akova
4. Prof. Dr. Olgun Güven
5. Prof. Dr. S. Lale Tokgözoğlu
6. Prof. Dr. Seza Özen
7. Prof. Dr. Turgay Dalkara
8. Prof. Dr. Vural Gökmen
9. Prof. Dr. Zümriye Aksu

The researchers also underline that the indicators reflecting the work of the last five years are particularly proud and that we have many scientists who exceed the 50/10,000 threshold.
