In the 2018 National Young Talents Music Competition organized by the Sedat-Güzin Gürel Art Foundation, our University Ankara State Conservatory Violin Secondary School 7th grade student İlke Işık Tuncer came in third place, contrabass undergraduate 4th grade student Gizem Sözeri and high school 1st year student Atakan Altun Kontrabas came in second place as duo. In addition to the award, they won the right to perform a concert at the Fulya Art Center accompanied by Istanbul State Symphony Orchestra Conductor Raoul Gruneis. Tuncer is the students of Prof. Eylem Önder Basarir, a lecturer of the String Instruments Department, and Sözeri and Altun are the students of Doç. Burak Karaağaç, a lecturer of the same Department.
