The Center for World University Rankings (CWUR), an international higher education ranking organization, has released its 2026 ranking of the world's best universities.
In the CWUR 2026 rankings, only 2,000 universities were listed among the 21,291 institutions evaluated worldwide. Hacettepe University was ranked 666th globally, placing it among the top 3.2% of universities in the world. The University also ranked 1st among the 47 Turkish universities included in the rankings, maintaining its national leadership for the third consecutive year. Hacettepe University was also ranked 193rd in Asia.
The CWUR rankings are based on four main areas: quality of education, alumni success, faculty quality, and research performance. The methodology does not rely on surveys or data submitted by universities. Instead, the rankings are compiled using objective, outcome-based indicators obtained from independent sources.
In research performance, Hacettepe University ranked 630th worldwide. This result reflects the University's strong standing in scientific publishing and research.
Having ranked first in Türkiye in the CWUR rankings in 2024, 2025, and 2026, Hacettepe University has maintained its position as the highest-ranked university in the country for the past three years.
