Hacettepe University is proud to announce the remarkable achievements of Gursel Abbas, a chemical engineering undergraduate student, who recently represented our institution at the prestigious "7th International Conference on Catalysis and Chemical Engineering (CCE 2023)" held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA, between February 20-22.
Gursel stood out as the only undergraduate student participating in the conference, where he presented his collaborative research projects. Working alongside Assoc. Dr. Ozge Yuksel Orhan at Hacettepe University and Prof. Dr. Ewelina Ksepko at Wroclaw University of Science and Technology, Gursel showcased his outstanding research skills and in-depth understanding of catalysis and chemical engineering.
During the conference, Gursel had the opportunity to network with esteemed professors and researchers from around the world, including the 2005 Nobel Prize laureate in Chemistry, Richard Schrock. These encounters provided a valuable platform for Gursel to exchange ideas and foster future collaborations with experts in the field.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan generously supported Gursel's participation by covering all of his travel expenses. This support highlights the importance of investing in our talented students and their potential to contribute to the scientific community.
Hacettepe University is thrilled to celebrate Gursel Abbas's achievements and looks forward to seeing his continued success in the field of chemical engineering. The university is committed to providing opportunities for students to pursue excellence in their respective fields and make meaningful contributions to academia and society.
