In the event held in the outdoor classroom of the Center located on the Beytepe Campus on May 9-10, 35 participants were given land ethic training, accompanied by 5 trainers. The education is compatible with the Leopold Education Project of the Aldo Leopold Foundation, headquartered in Baraboo, Wisconsin. It was carried out under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ufuk Özdağ, a “land ethic leader” and the Founding Director of the Land Ethic Center.
This training differs from other environmental education activities in that it focuses on the idea of developing ethical responsibility towards the land and all living things; With its trainer staff consisting of environmental writers, environmental educators, forest engineers and biologists, it offered the participants the opportunity to look at nature from a broad perspective. The event highlighted ways to increase knowledge about nature, as well as to connect with the land and the natural environment.
At the end of the 2-day training program with presentations, entertaining and interactive activities by experts in their fields, certificates were awarded to the participants.
