Opening of Beytepe Campus C Nizamiye

The opening of C Nizamiye, located on the west side of Hacettepe University Beytepe Campus, was held on December 18, 2023. The opening was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, senate and board members, university department heads, academic and administrative staff attended.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran stated that C Nizamiye is in a very important position in terms of access to our university and said:
“When we were first appointed, we had a conversation with the Teknokent management about whether a gate could be opened near the last bus stops where Teknokent is located, and whether transportation from the west side of the campus could become easier. This idea has evolved to this point. Considering the location of our campus and this road, it seems obvious that there was planning for this in the past. We have observed some things that make us think that past administrators predicted this. There was a road here and no trees were planted on this route. Afterwards, we saw that there was a construction road ahead. "So somehow this was planned and we thought we could realize it."

“WE CONSIDERED THE WELFARE OF 30 THOUSAND PEOPLE”
Our Rector Güran continued his words by sharing how they started the road work and the problems they encountered:
“A study had to be done on the infrastructure of the road. Our neighboring sites also had some savings regarding the development road. So all of this had to be managed. We had to deliver some solutions that would provide easier access to the campus for approximately 30 thousand people living on campus. We wanted to consider their well-being. Ultimately, we realized the entire infrastructure and the regular building by tendering this road ourselves, with the budget given by the Presidency Strategy and Budget Directorate. “We are opening it today.”

Stating that the opening of C Nizamiye is a great advantage for the students and staff living on the campus, Prof. Dr. Güran said, “People living on campus will no longer waste much time in traffic with the opening of this gate. When you use this road on foot, it will provide great convenience in reaching markets, cafes and public transportation. “It's a way to make everyone's job easier.” he said.

Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran added that they did their best to make the campuses even more beautiful and said, “Our past administrators and professors entrusted us with protecting and developing these places. "We will hand over this university to the next administrators with much better opportunities," he said.
