Prof. Dr. Metin Munzur, Director of Hacettepe University Ankara State Conservatory , was awarded the "Ordine Della Stella D'Itaila" (Italian Star Order Knight) by the President of Italy for his contributions to the relations between Turkiye and Italy. Speaking at the award ceremony at the Italian Embassy in Ankara, H.E. Mr. Ambassador Giorgio Marrapodi stated that Prof. Dr. Munzur has contributed significantly to the development of cooperation between Italy and Türkiye in the field of classical music and has increased the recognition of Italian music in Türkiye. Following the ceremony, Prof.Dr. Munzur, in his thank you speech given both in English and Italian, expressed his satisfaction for contributing to the development of cultural relations between two countries.
Ambassadors of different countries, academicians and respresentatives of classical mucis community attended to the ceremony. Following the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Metin Munzur and Tenor Çağlar Sungur performed a small concert consisting of Italian arias. The Presidential Symphony Orchestra artists, as the graduates of Ankara State Conservatory, also performed a short concert to the guests.
