Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan became Minister of Labor and Social Security

Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan, a faculty member of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Department of Social Work at our university, was appointed as the Minister of Labor and Social Security in the Presidential Cabinet.

Işıkhan, who completed his undergraduate, graduate, triple and doctoral studies at the Department of Social Work at Hacettepe University and acquired the titles of associate professor and professor in the same department, served as the Deputy Director of the Family Services Application Center, Head of the Social Work Department, and Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. Işıkhan, who works as a faculty member in the Social Work Department, was appointed as a member of the Presidential Social Policies Board in 2018 and has been serving as the Deputy Chairman of the same Board since 2021.

Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan's research areas include; working life, occupational health and safety, workers' rights, fight against child labor, social policy, social problems, social work, social security, social benefits, disadvantaged groups, industrial relations, unions, active aging, elderly care insurance and post-retirement problems is located.
