Six awards for our students from the idea competition

Organized for the third time this year by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, Directorate of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications Research Center (UDHAM), the “Türkiye on the Move and Connected 2053 Inter-University Idea Competition” has concluded. Attracting great interest from universities, the competition aims to encourage young talents to develop innovative and sustainable solutions, while strengthening cooperation between academia and the sector.

At the award ceremony held with the participation of the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, Mr. Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, students from Hacettepe University were deemed worthy of awards with their various projects, bringing great pride to the university.

Vice-Rector of our university, Prof. Dr. Armağan Tarım, also attended the ceremony, shared in the excitement of our students, closely examined the award-winning projects, and congratulated our young talents.

Award-Winning Projects and Our Students

Vehbi Berke Atabey, İbrahim Utku Göker, Ali Emre Arar, İsmail Efe Karaaslan – NEFES
A project aiming to create digital twins of cities through an AI-powered autonomous drone fleet and multi-sensor fusion to detect disaster risks in advance, received the Honorable Mention – Most Development Potential award.

Meryem Sarıca – E-REHAB
A project designed to facilitate access to rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities, the elderly, and disadvantaged groups, was granted the Honorable Mention – Most Health-Oriented award.

İrem Sıla Küçük – DUYVER (AI-Based Smart Audio Object Recognition Glasses)
A smart glasses project developed for the visually impaired won the Honorable Mention – Most Strategic award.

Dilara Kılıç – Secure Communication with Quantum Key Distribution
A project aiming to provide next-generation cybersecurity solutions for Türkiye’s communication infrastructure received the Honorable Mention – Most Social award.

Enes İsmet Bal, Emre Tahtalı, Yiğit Kaya Bağcı – Demir Pusula
An innovative platform that accelerates railway feasibility processes won the First Prize, achieving significant success.

Hasan Can Zorlu, Hüseyin Köroğlu, Muhammed Taha Keleş, Serkan Öz – RailChargeTR
A project aiming to increase energy efficiency in Türkiye’s railway transportation was honored with the Honorable Mention – Most Sectoral award.
