The 2025 research performance results, conducted within the scope of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) Research-Oriented Mission Differentiation and Specialization Program, have been announced.
According to the data shared by CoHE President Prof. Dr. Erol Özvar at the Research Universities Evaluation Meeting held at Yıldız Technical University on December 4, 2025, our university rose two places in the 2025 Research Universities performance ranking. According to the results, Hacettepe University ranked 8th among 23 universities in Türkiye and 3rd among research universities in the A2 category. Hacettepe University also ranked 1st among public universities with a medical school according to the 2025 performance results.
In addition, Hacettepe University achieved a comprehensive success by improving its performance compared to the previous year in all 17 indicators included in the ranking.
CoHE divides research universities into three performance groups—A1, A2, and A3—based on their performance, and all planned support for these universities varies according to the group in which they are placed.
A 9-point increase for Hacettepe University
According to the 2025 results, Hacettepe University reached a total score of 63.11, marking a 9-point increase compared to the previous year. This rise was particularly notable in the field of interaction and collaboration. The increase in the Interaction and Collaboration score from 7.00 to 11.20 clearly demonstrated the strong momentum in national and international joint research activities. Hacettepe also recorded improvements in the research capacity and research quality indicators, raising its total score from 54 to 63.11.
The Research Universities Program, initiated by CoHE in 2017, aims to strengthen the research-oriented missions of universities, enhance their international competitiveness, and improve the quality of scientific output. Within the scope of the program, universities are evaluated each year under key categories such as research capacity, research quality, and interaction and collaboration.
Having steadily improved its performance since the early years of the program, Hacettepe University reaffirmed its position among Türkiye’s leading research-oriented higher education institutions with its 2025 results.
