Times Higher Education (THE), the world university ranking organization, developed a new ranking system under the title of "Impact Rankings" for the first time in 2019, and our University was included in this ranking. This ranking system, in which the question sets used to determine the effects of World Universities on society, environment and social development are renewed every year, aims to measure the strategies, policies and practices of universities in accordance with the Sustainable Development Goals determined by the United Nations (UN). The THE Impact Rankings, which try to measure universities not only as an educational institution but also in terms of their impact on society, administration, social assistance, environment and health, evaluated the activities and academic data of universities in 2020 in the 2022 results.
THE evaluated 766 universities from 85 countries in 2020, 1,115 universities from 94 countries in 2021, and 1,406 universities from 106 countries this year. In our country, 39 universities in 2020, 52 in 2021, and 60 universities in 2022 sent data to the system.
Participating in THE Impact Rankings 2022 under 5 main headings, our University rose to the 201-300 band this year in the world overall ranking, where it was in the 301-400 band last year. Despite the increase in the number of participating universities, our increase in the overall score and ranking is also an indicator of an important success.
The results of our university in 2022 are as follows:
