The best Ph.D. thesis award from the Ecology and Evolutionary Biology Society (Turkey), which is selected among theses completed in Turkish universities, was granted to the thesis of Hacettepe University graduate Dr. Nursema Aktepe. Dr. Aktepe completed her thesis entitled "Variability of the flammability of plants in Turkish Red Pine (Pinus brutia Ten.) forests at population, species and community levels, and the relationship of this variability with the fire regime" in 2021 under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Çağatay Tavşanoğlu in the Biology (Ecology) program of the Institute of Science, Hacettepe University.
