Young Scientists Award to 3 Hacettepe University Members

The 2024 results of the Science Academy Young Scientists Award Program, BAGEP, initiated by the Science Academy in 2013 and sustained with community support rather than public funds, have been unveiled. Three faculty members from Hacettepe University have been honored with the BAGEP 2024 Award.

In the context of BAGEP 2024, three distinguished members of our university faculty have been recognized: Assoc. Dr. Göksel Güven from the Faculty of Medicine, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Science in the Department of Chemistry, Dr. Yeşeren Saylan İnci, and Assoc. Dr. Zehra Taşkın from the Faculty of Letters in the Department of Information Management.

This year, 16 young academics from Hacettepe have been acknowledged with this award in total, which aims to celebrate exceptional young scientists and offers two years of research support. The program was first established in 2016.

Unlike project-based awards, the BAGEP Award's application process requires candidates to submit a list of significant publications and a concise research program, not exceeding two pages, outlining their proposed research if granted the award. In this document, candidates are encouraged to present their research visions and career aspirations. The BAGEP Award is bestowed upon scientists under the age of 40.
