Prof. Dr. Banu Sancak's project won Erasmus Program grant support

The primary objective of the project is to enable healthcare professionals working in microbiology laboratories to effectively manage biosecurity risks they may encounter before, during, and after disasters and to increase awareness in this area. The project also aims to to enhance the professional knowledge and skills of these professionals, thereby enhancing their preparedness for future disaster scenarios.

Key outputs of the project include:

Development of a Biosecurity Training Program: Educational materials and modules will be created to help laboratory personnel optimize biosecurity practices during disaster situations.
Awareness Campaigns: Awareness initiatives will be organized to promote the mitigation of biosecurity risks in laboratory settings during disasters and outbreaks, and to disseminate relevant preventive measures.
International Collaboration and Knowledge Exchange: The project will support international cooperation by engaging stakeholders from various countries and encouraging the exchange of best practices.
Aligned with the primary goals of the European Union Erasmus Program, the project seeks to provide innovative solutions in vocational training and to enhance the resilience of healthcare professionals against global disasters. The outcomes are expected to contribute significantly not only at the national level but also on an international scale.
