QS 2025 World University Rankings by subject announced

The international higher education ranking organization Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) has announced the “2025 World University Rankings by Subject.” The 2025 ranking includes more than 1.700 universities from over 100 countries and regions.

Ranking Criteria
QS uses various indicators such as academic reputation, employer reputation, research impact and the h-index to determine its rankings. These indicators provide a detailed assessment of our university’s performance across different disciplines.

Hacettepe University’s Success
In the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025, universities worldwide were evaluated in 55 fields under five main categories. Just like last year, Hacettepe University successfully secured a place in the rankings in all five main categories this year as well. Our university ranked within the top 500 worldwide in all five categories.

In the 2024 ranking, Hacettepe University was listed in 13 sub-disciplines. In the 2025 ranking, this number increased to 19.
Our university achieved remarkable global success by ranking among the top 100 worldwide in 3 sub-disciplines, the top 200 in 4 sub-disciplines, and the top 300 in 9 sub-disciplines.

Newly Ranked Disciplines
In the 2025 QS subject rankings, four departments from our university were listed for the first time. Library & Information Management ranked 51-100, Dentistry 51-120, Modern Languages 251-300, and Materials Science 401-550, making a strong debut.

In Türkiye, Hacettepe University ranked first in Library & Information Management, Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Biology. Additionally, it is the only university in Türkiye ranked in Library & Information Management.

This achievement highlights Hacettepe University’s academic strength and global competitiveness once again.
