QS World University Rankings: Sustainability 2025 Results Announced

Academic ranking agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) announced its Sustainability Rankings for 2025. As last year, QS ranked the world's universities according to the categories of “Social Impact”, “Environmental Impact” and “Governance” under the theme of sustainability.

While the number of universities evaluated in the overall ranking increased from 1,403 to 1,744 compared to last year, the number of universities evaluated in Turkey increased from 24 to 36. According to the QS 2025 Sustainability Rankings, Hacettepe University ranked 550th among 1,744 higher education institutions worldwide and 7th among the 36 Turkish universities included in the ranking.

In the category-based evaluation, Hacettepe University ranked 793rd in the “Environmental Impact” category, 488th in the “Social Impact” category, and 243rd in the “Governance” category. When evaluated according to the sub-headings of the categories, the strongest aspect of Hacettepe University at the global level in the Social Impact category was “Knowledge Exchange” and ranked 201st in the world in this category. In the “Governance” category, where it ranked 580th in the 2024 ranking, it showed a great improvement and ranked 243rd in the world and 2nd in Turkey in 2025.  This remarkable performance in the governance category can be considered as an indicator of Hacettepe University's will and success in improving its governance processes.
