Organized by the Turkish Miners Association, the "Responsible Mining Awards" recognize outstanding projects that make a difference in the mining sector. As part of the event, the “Women Inspiring Mining” category was introduced to encourage innovative projects led by women in the industry, presenting three prestigious awards: “Woman Mining Executive of the Year”, “Woman Miner of the Year”, and “Young Woman Talent of the Year.”
At the award ceremony held on December 6, 2024, Prof. Dr. Güzin Gülsev Uyar Aksoy, a faculty member at Hacettepe University's Mining Engineering Department, was honored with the “Woman Mining Executive of the Year” award. She received the award from the Minister of Energy, Mr. Alparslan Bayraktar.
