Hacettepe Teknokent continues to develop not only in technology but also in social areas with its strong infrastructure and R&D support. Hacettepe Teknokent Hayat Sokak, a modern social life center that will allow all employees and visitors to work in a pleasant environment in Beytepe Campus, has been opened.
The opening ceremony held on October 9, 2024 was attended by our Rector and Hacettepe Teknokent Board of Directors Chairman Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, Hacettepe Teknokent Board of Directors Member Prof. Dr. Beşir Fatih Doğan, General Manager İsmail Karahan, former board member of Teknokent Prof. Dr. Osman Horata, academic and administrative staff of our university and Teknokent staff.
The ceremony, which started with a musical recital by our University Ankara State Conservatory "Hacettepe Brass Quintet", was opened by Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran.
Prof. Dr. Güran said, “Today is a day when our transformation and capacity development activities in Teknokent, which we have been continuing for 4 years, are crowned and we have come together to share one of our achievements. We have done everything we have done so far together with the board members of Teknokent. People sometimes work 24 hours a day in Teknokent. You may not see light in the university at night, but you do in these buildings. Because these companies operating within Teknokent are making great efforts to implement their targeted projects, for which they have put all their efforts, undertaken costs and taken on many responsibilities, and to ensure a return as soon as possible. Therefore, they practically live here. Therefore, we saw that this place needs some social spaces that are not just office spaces, where people can socialize and meet their daily needs.”
Giving information about Teknokent’s problems and the projects they have implemented so far, Prof. Dr. Güran stated that they have eliminated many deficiencies with these projects they have implemented and said the following:
“With the problems resolved and the new steps taken, I think Teknokent has a very bright future. Teknokent has been operating an inn until now, from now on it will be in the field as an angel investor who funds R&D, and as an actor who follows up on pre-incubation and incubation companies not only within our Teknokent but also in all of Turkey and researches them for investment. I believe that Teknokent will progress with bigger and stronger steps from now on. We have reached that ground. This opening is a representative of all of these.”
Thanking everyone who contributed, our Rector Güran, together with the Teknokent Board of Directors members, cut the ribbon in the activity area that includes a cafe, patisserie and other food services and opened Hayat Sokak.
