The results of the 2221-2 Visiting or Sabbatical Researcher Support Programme, which is run by TÜBİTAK to encourage visiting or sabbatical researchers who have completed their PhDs at TÜBİTAK and are working abroad in roles requiring a PhD to come to Turkey, have been announced. According to the results, the postdoctoral research project entitled ‘Conceptualising Journalists’ Mental Health When Reporting on Traumatic Events (CJMW)’, supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr A. Nevin Yıldız, a member of the academic staff at our university’s Faculty of Communication, has been awarded funding. Dr Rahman Ullah, a lecturer in the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Kohat University of Science and Technology in Pakistan, is leading the project, which aims to establish an academic cooperation bridge between Turkey and Pakistan.
Following the announcement of the results, the Faculty of Communication at Hacettepe University congratulated the researchers who had been awarded funding and issued the following statement:
“The postdoctoral research project entitled ‘Conceptualising Journalists’ Mental Health When Reporting on Traumatic Events (CJMW)’ has been awarded funding. We congratulate Dr Rahman Ullah, who will be joining our Faculty as a visiting researcher to carry out his academic work as part of the project, and Associate Professor Dr A. Nevin Yıldız.”
The programme, run by TÜBİTAK, enables visiting or academic-leave researchers to carry out all kinds of academic and R&D activities in Turkey, including conducting research, working in laboratories, developing products, organising conferences and congresses, delivering seminars, providing part-time teaching, and collaborating on joint projects.
