Organized in collaboration with Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences and the Disabled Student Unit, the “Leaving a Mark on the Future Meeting” was held on Wednesday, December 3, 2024, at the M Hall of the Sıhhiye Campus Cultural Center. The event was designed to support the participation of individuals with disabilities in social life, raise awareness, and promote the consciousness of an inclusive society.
The program began with opening speeches by the Coordinator of the Disabled Student Unit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Onur Altuntaş, Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Prof. Dr. Maviş Emel Kulak Kayıkcı, and Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran. In these speeches, the importance of integrating individuals with disabilities into social life was emphasized, and the steps needed to build an inclusive society were highlighted.
In the session featuring guest speakers, distinguished athletes and students who have achieved success in their fields shared their experiences. Para Table Tennis Player Neslihan Kavaş, TS Basketball Player Volkan Gülem, Para Shooting Athlete Murat Oğuz, B1 Football Player Recep Aydemir, and Hacettepe University Master's Student Sümeyye Uçmaz inspired participants with their life stories and achievements.
The “Leaving a Mark on the Future Meeting” provided an opportunity for accomplished individuals from various sports disciplines to share their knowledge and experiences, highlighting the power of change and new beginnings in contributing to the creation of an inclusive society.
