The Faculty Members of our University’s "NeuroDeGene" project have received 2.5 million euros in support

The “NeuroDeGene” project, which will start on February 17th and includes faculty members from our university’s Faculty of Medicine, has received 2.5 million euros in funding.

NeuroDeGene is a project focused on “AI-powered Risk Assessment and Early Diagnosis for Neurodegenerative Diseases, using a Highly Accurate and Cost-Effective Innovative Genetic Panel.” It aims to address critical gaps in healthcare by developing new diagnostic tools for neurodegenerative diseases. These diseases are typically diagnosed at advanced stages, where treatment options are limited.

The project will begin on February 17th and will last for 36 months. The team includes Prof. Dr. Çetin Kocaefe from Hacettepe University’s Faculty of Medicine as the project coordinator, as well as Prof. Dr. Yavuz Ayhan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Gül Yalçın Çakmaklı, and Dr. Öğr. Üyesi Ezgi Yetim Arsa as researchers.

This project aims to present a diagnostic platform that integrates cutting-edge genomics technologies with artificial intelligence (AI), bringing together expertise and stakeholders from academia, clinical practice, and industry. By combining the complementary resources, infrastructure, and technical expertise of its partners, the project aims to provide a globally unique and effective solution that is accessible to all stakeholders in healthcare systems.

The project, which involves SME partners from France and Turkey (Firalis, Gen Era) and academic partners (Hacettepe University, Lille University, and Inserm), is supported by the “Eureka Network” with a budget of 2.5 million Euros.
