Thousands of students tossed their caps at Hacettepe

Between July 16–25, 2025, a total of 6,426 students graduated during the commencement ceremonies held at our university's Sıhhiye and Beytepe campuses. These ceremonies celebrated the graduation of students from associate and undergraduate degree programs across both campuses.

During the graduation ceremonies of 15 faculties, 1 conservatory, and 4 vocational schools, the top-ranking students of each faculty gave heartfelt speeches reflecting on the challenges, joys, and efforts they experienced throughout their university years. In his speech at the 2025 graduation ceremonies, our University Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran emphasized the meaning and importance of the event with the following words:

"You are graduating with the competence and self-confidence to represent your profession, our university, and our country in the best possible way anywhere in the world. Beyond the knowledge and skills required in your field, you will reflect the problem-solving, rational, tolerant, and creative perspective that Hacettepe University has instilled in you. You will make a difference in every professional and social environment, feeling a sense of family. The ethical values and principles underlying Hacettepe University’s national and international achievements, along with the philosophy of 'Towards the better, to the best' as expressed by our founder, the late Prof. Dr. İhsan Doğramacı, are the fundamental pillars of our success. Please take these as your guide throughout your life. Dear young people, never forget that life is a challenge. Your struggle is not with others, but with yourself. It is always possible to do better. This graduation is not an end, but a beginning."

In addition to the speech by our Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, the ceremony program also included speeches by the top graduates of faculties, the conservatory, and vocational schools, as well as by deans, the conservatory director, and vocational school directors.

For graduates and families who could not attend the ceremony in person, the programs were broadcast live on our university’s official YouTube channel.
