The “Kyudai Now” International Forum, organized in collaboration with Kyushu University and the J-MENA Project, was held on Wednesday, November 26. Representatives from Kyushu University held various meetings during the forum held in Ankara.
Japanese and Turkish academics came together at a reception held as part of the Forum, which aims to build a bridge of science between Turkey and Japan. Prof. Dr. Pervin Hürmüz, representing Hacettepe University, Dr. Fazlı Yağız Yedekçi, a postdoctoral researcher at Kyushu University, and Dr. Gül Deniz Demirel Aydemir, Coordinator of International Relations, were invited to the reception. The representatives gave a brief and informal presentation about Hacettepe University, conveying the strengths of our university to the international participants at the reception.

The Kyushu University delegation continued its program with a visit to our university on November 27, 2025. The delegation, which included Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Shimizu Shuji and Associate Prof. Dr. Atsumi Kazushige from the Faculty of Medicine, began its visit at the Cancer Institute, hosted by our Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Necla Özer. The delegation then visited Hacettepe Oncology and Adult Hospitals, accompanied by the Chief Physicians. The program concluded with a visit to the Rector's office and a dinner hosted by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, in their honor.
During the visit, mutual expressions of goodwill were also made regarding the formalization of the joint studies that have been conducted for some time with Prof. Dr. Pervin Hürmüz, faculty member of the Faculty of Medicine and Deputy Director of the Cancer Institute, and her team, through a cooperation protocol to be signed between the two universities. The visit was considered a positive step that contributed to strengthening the foundations of a long-term and productive academic collaboration between the two universities.
