The “Workshop on Strengthening Anti-Doping Knowledge and Enhancing Educational Capacity in Sports-Related Degree Programmes” was hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sport. Held at the Istanbul Riva Camp and Training Centre, the workshop highlighted the importance of educational capacity and cooperation in the fight against doping. The workshop, attended by Youth and Sports Minister Osman Aşkın Bak, Azerbaijan’s Youth and Sports Minister Ferid Gayıbov, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Safa Koçoğlu Gürsoy, General Director of Sports Services Veli Ozan Çakır, and numerous federation presidents, also saw our university’s Rector, Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cahit Güran, among the guests.
Organised in collaboration with the UNESCO National Commission of Turkey, the Turkish Anti-Doping Commission, the Council of Deans of Faculties of Sports Sciences, the Sport for All Federation, and relevant degree programmes at universities, the workshop saw the participation of 72 academic staff members from 69 universities across Turkey. At the workshop, experts in the field and representatives from national and international organisations came together to discuss ways of enhancing educational capacity in the fight against doping.
