As part of our international academic collaborations program, our university hosted Dr. Nomusa Dube-Ncube, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Training of the Republic of South Africa, and her accompanying delegation. During the visit, opportunities for cooperation and joint projects in the field of higher education between the two countries were discussed.
During the visit to our university, Deputy Minister Dr. Dube-Ncube and her delegation were welcomed by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmet Serper and his accompanying university delegation. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral collaborations in academic and scientific fields, student and faculty exchange programs, joint research projects, and innovation-based initiatives.
"Encourages scientific diplomacy"
During the visit, we also visited the Technopark area, a hub for our university's research, technology, and entrepreneurship potential. Detailed information was obtained about projects underway at the Technopark, innovation activities, and university-industry collaborations.
Dr. Dube-Ncube expressed her satisfaction with our university's research infrastructure and its open vision for international collaboration, expressing her belief that this visit would contribute to the development of academic relations between the two countries.
Our university's Vice Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Serper, stated that they are ready to strengthen their educational collaboration with South Africa, emphasizing that such visits foster scientific diplomacy and global educational partnerships.
The visit concluded with the presentation of gifts and a commemorative photo to commemorate the occasion.
